Nags Head Woods Ecological Preserve
Located in Dare County, Nags Head Woods offers plenty of things to do, such as hiking, jogging, bicycling, and many more outdoor activities year-round. Hiking trails are open dawn to dusk every day for foot traffic only. Please register at the outdoor information counter. Horses and bicycles are not allowed on the trails but are welcome on the gravel roadway. Leashed dogs are allowed on the Roanoke Trail and Town Trail as well as on the gravel roadway; dogs are not allowed on the other trails. Leashed Dogs are allowed on the following trails: Discovery, Roanoke, ADA and Town Trail. Dogs are not allowed on the Center, Sweetgum and Blueberry Ridge Trails.
