Overview: Southern Shores, NC

The beaches of Sothern Shores are private and uncrowded. The Southern Shores community soundside bathing beach and playground are great for families with small children. Community tennis courts are available for many homes in the community.

The main differences between Southern Shores and Duck is that Southern Shores is mostly residential. Duck does have a small town feel with restaurants and shopping etc. I find Southern Shores to be a lot more quiet and private than Duck. You can easily get to Duck within minutes from Southern Shores unless it is a Saturday morning as that is one of the change over days. There is an awesome bike path from Southern Shores to Duck as well.
