Corolla Surf School
Corolla Surf Shop has
been giving surf and body board
lessons for 9 years in Corolla
and have taught over 5000 students
how to surf.
Here is how
it works: We set the exact time
and location of the surf lesson
the weekend before the lesson
is given. The reason is that
the tides, shifting sand bars
and swell change from time to
time. Our job is to pick the
best time and surf break so
that you get the most out of
the lesson. All lessons meet
at our North location, in the
Corolla Light Village Shops,
across from the Whalehead Club.
We provide all the equipment.
For Surf Board Lessons, we will
provide a surfboard and wetsuit.
For Body Board Lessons, we will
provide a performance body board,
fins and wetsuit. You should
bring a towel, a bottle of water,
sandals and bathing suit. Suggestions:
please keep sunscreen away from
your eyes. Inexpensive lotions
have a tendency to drip into
your eyes and burn. Plus too
much lotion on your body will
cause you to slip off the board.
We sell performance lotion at
our 2 locations. You can schedule
a class on-line. Just pick from
the selection below.
If you are
vacationing during the months
of June, July and August, you
will want to sign up on line.
Our classes fill up for the
entire week pretty quick. If
you choose to come to the store
try to sign up as soon as you
can. This is also a good time
to pick up rental equipment.
We rent surfboards, high performance
body boards, skim boards and
wetsuits. We can also help you
with tide info, surf conditions
and the best breaks. Family
members are always welcomed!
