Subject: Trip Insurance and Golf
Two different questions: Should be get trip insurance in case of hurricanes (July next year) or not worth it. Does the Outer Banks ever get hurricanes that early in the season? Second question: Do you need to make golf tee times before you head to the island or will you get times once you arrive?

The OBX has never had a hurricane in July and there is even less chance of an evacuation then, But anything can happen. The trip insurance also covers other things other than hurricanes that could spoil your vacation. You don't mention where you are staying. The lower section of Hatteras/Buxton/Avon gets more bad weather than does the KDH area or Duck/Corolla, but if they evacuate Dare county it all goes. Evacuations are rare and I think there has only been a few in the past 20+ years.

I know nothing about golf

my husband has made tee times the day before he wanted to golf. you just need to be flexible about when you want to golf. twilight is much, much cheaper. call around for the prices.

Thanks for the info. We have rented a home in Corolla for next July - some of my family are worried about hurricanes - I didn't think there were many hurricanes early July.
