Subject: Dependable Realtor

Hi I am plannig a vacation next August and need the name of a good realtor.I am told that corrola is a little more expensive, more high end is this true. Also any Ideas for activities for kids from ages 8 to 14 thanks again.

Yes, generally more expensive in Corolla & Duck. Very family friendly.

If the kids love the ocean, no worries, they'll never want to leave. Give them bogie boards and they'll never get tired of riding waves. Lots of shops in Corolla for ice cream, pizza, snacks. There are also good bike trails.

You don't need a Realtor, you want a rental company. A Realtor is a single person who joins the association of Realtors and not everyone who deals in realestate is a Realtor. 90% of the people who work in a real estate office are not Realtors.

I have used Outer Beaches Realty for over 20 years and have never had any problems. We stay in the Waves/Salvo/Rodanthe area, but it's quiet and laid back there. Avon would have more for kids. There are bike rentals, you can fly kites, snorkel on the sound side, etc. Hope you have a great vacation.

We just back from our 1st OBX vacation in Corolla and rented our property thru Village Realty. Had a few issues with the property and they were super quick to respond. A++++

Note on staying in Corolla, it rolls up the carpet fairly early. Accomodations are great, but there is no real night life to speak of. For the hussle and bussle, we ended up driving to Nags Head area 3 different times and it got old fast!

I'm also from Long Island...After many years of vacationing out in Montauk, we've decided to take the kids (7 & 3)to the OBX this year. You can rent a whole house for what you would pay for just a room out there. We will be staying in Corolla, 2nd week in Aug. We went with Kitty Hawk Realty, I hope they're decent............Can't wait to go!, I'm counting the days! 13 to be exact!!!

We just got back from the Outer Banks and rented through Village Realty. I thought they were excellent and your linens are included! We stayed in Nags Head area where there is tons of options for activities, shopping and exploring.

We just arrived home from Corolla on Sat. Our first time ever to OBX. Village Realty was excellent. House was everything promised.Only real fun for the kids would be Tim Buck two. Other than the beach, the house pool and hot tub. Enjoy

Corolla is a little more expensive and high ended than some other areas. With that, you get more value...more space, more bang for you buck. For even more bang for your buck try the 4X4 area of Corolla...try Swan Beach. We love it there.
I recommend the realtors at TWIDDY.

Try JoeLambjr.com . We stayed in a house in Corolla and won't ever stay in that area again. We like the houses in Southern Shores, Duck or Kitty Hawk or KDH.

My family and I are staying in Corolla this year and this is our second time visiting the OBX. Last year we used Twiddy and stayed in the 4x4 beach area. The house, accomodations, and service were unbelievable! I highly recommend using that management company. A++++. This year we used Elan Vacations because the homes through Twiddy were booked. All I can say is the service was horrible to say the least. They have been rude, unaccomodating, and the home was filthy when we arrived. We paid to have a hot tub that never worked and was dangerously damaged. I do not recommend Elan Vacations.

Had a problem with a house rented through Southern Shores Realty.
Took them 2 1/2 days to respond
and problem did not get fixed. Asked for a small refund off of the rent and was denied. Good Luck.

plenty of solid good companies to rent from for houses in corolla (and other towns), corollaclassicvacations.com and outerbanksblue.com, beachrealtync.com, outerbanksvacations.com. if you come further south joelambjr has a lot of great properties too. corolla is not much with the nightlife but the beaches are great and there's lots of shopping. kids could get surfing lessons.

On Hatteras Island (Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, Buxton, Frisco, Hatteras) Outer Beaches Realty is the way to go. Great website, lots of photos of the homes www.outerbeaches.com. Have been renting through Outer Beaches for many years. Tried 2 other companies (Sun and Hatteras Realty) and had bad experiences both times. Went back to Outer BEaches, and it will stay that way from now on.

I have not been there in corollo but i heard about it.Most of the places are not nice but some places are really very good enough to spend with children.
