Subject: September in the Outer Banks
We are thinking about going to the Outer Banks at the end of September.(week of the 23rd) Was wondering what the weather is like than, can you still go to the beach? Also are restaurants still open then?

We went early October 2 years ago, and it was the best weather I'd ever seen. Everything was still pretty much open. I think the big shutdowns come after Thanksgiving.

I highly recommend that time of year.

September is a great time to go! We used to go then before the kids were old enough to be in school, of course. The best part is the HUGE reduction in rental fees after Labor Day.

Yes, yes, yes, definitely go then. It's the best time. Restaurants will still be open and weather is perfect. See you there!

I am interested in renting for the week of Thanksgiving with my large family. Lots of golfers in this family as well as women who like to shop. Weather? Attractions? Any suggestions or comments on whether this is a good idea.

We went for our first Sept trip last year (8th trip overall). Weather was great, yes it was hot Sept 17-23, 2008. The water is finally warm. Got a tan. Super shopping> everything is marked down. Best part! no waiting at the restaurants & lots of personal attention in the stores. Traffic is lighter, the beach is not crowded. Fall is the best time to go, we'll be back Sept 13 this year.
