Subject: Golf Courses
We are planning a golf trip to the Outer Banks and it seems every golfer has an opinion about the courses.

I have played most but not all the courses down there. My 2 favorites are the Currituck Club and Kilmarlic. We need 1 more.

I have never played the Nags Head Links becuase I understand it is nice but everyone says is it their least favorite to play b/c of difficulty. A few of the guys I am going with won't break a 100 so not sure if we want to do this one.

I played the Seascape course several ago and was not impressed. I heard it has been renovated but had received mixed reports since the rennovation.

I played the Carolina Club a while ago and do not recall it being great nor terrible.

I played the Pointe is was nothing special.

I never played Duck Woods nor Goose Creek but don't think I am missing much there.

Any Input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

MC

I played Duck Woods last summer. It was the only course that I have played in the Outer Banks, so I have no comparison, but I pretty much knew ahead of time of what I was getting (based on price comparison and reviews). We were staying in Duck, so we played it more of a convenience factor than anything else. It was tough to pull away from the beach as it was, so we wanted something close. The course was OK, but nothing special. If you are playing with a couple hackers, the course is more than fine. Trust me when I say that the course was not very memorable, but for a few guys going out for a round, I would defintly recommend it. Your hacker buddies will enjoy it.

Check out the Outer Banks Golf website at

http://golfouterbanks.com/

there is lots of info there and they even have a blog--maybe you could post your question there too.
There are also golf packages available on this site.
Just a thought.
I am not a golfer but have good things about the Currituck Club and Nags Head Golf Links.

Nags Head is a tough course but not particularly long. If your higher handicap players can hit relatively straight they do not have to be long at all. Some of the holes along the sound really beautiful. The view is "almost" worth the price.

Agter 25 years of playing golf in OBX, I fnally played Nags Heads Links last year, and loved it. Shorter than I normally like, the winds more than made up for the lenght.
I will play every year I'm here.

If you have never played Nags Head Links you need to. I have played all over the world and it is one of my favorites and by far my favorite course in the outer banks.

As for the difficulty, you won't shoot your best round ever but you will have a memorable one.

Try The Point, sister club of Carolina Club. Played it last year and really enjoyed it.
