We're taking our first multi-generation family trip to Corolla Light in mid-May. Could you please give suggestions for kid friendly restaurants, tours, etc? We have two two-year olds. Thanks!

The Aquarium in Manteo is good for the little ones.

I do think there is an awful lot else geared for a two year old, other than a bucket, a shovel, and a shady spot on the sand.

Big Al's in Manteo. Fun place and very kid friendly.

Manteo is fairly far from Corolla. I don't have little kids anymore but I can't think of many places down there that I would say were not kid friendly. Timbuk 2 has eat out doors restaurants, mini golf, go karts, etc. lots of kids there.

There is a playground in the middle of Timbuk II and another next to the Twiddy office near the lighthouse. Corolla BBQ is next to that. Sit and eat some good BBQ and let the kids play.

We just got home yesterday with our newly turned 3 year old and she had a hard time adjusting for some reason. She loved the beach/water the first day but then wanted to stay inside and watch TV the rest of the week!! She thought of every excuse in the book to stay in. She goes to daycare and plays with lots of kids at home and is very outgoing but being away for a week was hard on us all. Now that she is home she is totally happy again! So weird, but she did love Jockeys Ridge Park just walking up and down the dunes and pretending to fly... Our dog loved it too and the aquarium in Manteo. She slept alot on the car trip from upstate NY (traveled mostly at night) which we were greatful for. We did play a game that she liked where we described animals or people she knew and she guessed them. We are still stumped because this is a kid that up until now loved life and anything new. Last year we did the same trip when she just turned 2 and she loved the beach and walking around and picking up the little stones and shells. There is also a huge movie theater if rainy weather etc..
