Subject: August or Sept in OBX
Due to my husband's taking a new job, we will be vacationing later in the year this coming summer. How are the OBX in August or September? We came this year in June. The weather was terrible, but we still had a good time, and we want to come back next year.

We always go in early August - not quite as crowded. September should be even better. Still plenty warm. There is probably a slightly greater risk of a hurricane later in the summer, but we don't worry about it. Go for it!

weather is great in september, mid to upper 70's sometimes even in the 80's--not as crowed in september as in august. just a chance of hurricanes.

We've come in September multiple times and the weather is great (hurricanes are a possibility), the ocean is warm, no crowds/traffic and the homes are a lot less expensive. Especially after Labor Day.

I'd choose September--fewer people and lower rental rates and great weather. Everything is still open, too. As always, keep you eye on the sky during hurricane season.

aug and sept. are almost always more enjoyable than june. warm water and air, but a chance of hurricanes and stronger surf in general

We,ve gone to the OBX for years, always in mid Sept, out of 16 years only had to leave twice for hurricanes and never ever had rain for more than one day of the week. Still very warm then too. Go!

I have been going to OBX for 6 years always in mid September and weather is nothing by awesome. We had only had maybe 2 days of rain in all the years. I think that time is the best!!!

We've stayed in Frisco for the past 5 years over the Labor Day holiday. Have also stayed over the July 4 holiday. September is awesome! Surf is great and places aren't as crowded. Never had bad weather. Go!

We always go to the Outer Banks in August, usually the 3rd or 4th week. We've had excellent weather until last year when we had to cut our vacation two days short because of a tropical storm that was coming in. Just keep and eye on the weather forecast and you'll be fine.

My husband grew up on the OBX and by far the best swim time is usually the 1st-2nd week of August. His parents still live there and we have been there everytime of year- all in all the Outer Banks is simply the best place to be anytime. Go and enjoy yourself- you'll be glad you did.

My husband and I have been visiting OBX for 8 years, always going in mid Sept. due to the drop in rental rates. The last 4 years have been less desirable weather-wise ie. being sent off the island due to a hurricane or very windy and cold with little good sunny days in our week stay. We are going to try going in May this year. Hope we are making the right choice.

When our daughter was young we went to Nags Head in June or July,I liked it,but when she left home we started going in Sept. or the first of Oct. I love Nags Head that time of year. It's still warm enough to do anything water related you may want to do-and if you go out at night you don't melt. we have only run into bad weather once in all the years we have been doing this. It's great! Less traffic also!

We always go the last week of August and have always had great weather. Except for a couple days in 2006 there was a little hurricane. So we went to the movies.

Just returned from Hatteras and it was muggy and HOT! (8/10/09) Would think that June or July would be better.

I've been going to obx for vacations for 14 years. We usually go in August or September and the weather is awesome! Only one hurricane that made us leave.

I'm not sure why but this web site is loading extremely slow for me. Is anyone else having this problem or is it a issue on my end? I'll check back later and see if the problem still exists. micro bikinis http://cheap-lingeries.webnode.com/
