Subject: Outer Beaches Realty Feedback

After reading several posts about different realty companies on this forum I decided to see if I could get any feedback about the company we will be using in 2007. We are renting cottage #300 The Sunny B with Outer Beaches Realty. Any good or bad feedback would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

Not sure what it is your looking for. Maybe that they steal all the money and never give you a rental to stay in or that they some times forget to wipe the toilet off. If one person had a problem it doesn't mean the company does it every week to every person and don't we all know those people who just complain to be complaining and get attention because they are just really cheap? I know we all know some. Outer Beaches will do a fine job for you.

While I've never used them myself, I have not heard anything bad about them. I have spoken to someone in their office before and they were quite helpful with my questions and quite knowledgable about the area. They were not rude and were quite pleasant to talk with even though I didn't end up renting from them. The only reason we didn't was because the house we wanted to rent was already booked for the week we needed.

Thanks everyone.
I realize that some posts on here are from habitual complainers, disgruntled guest or possibly from guests with unrealistic expectations. Therefore I know one person’s bad experience does not necessarily mean we will also have a bad experience. I think most posts on this forum come from locals or past guest that generally want to be helpful. We hope to make our trip an annual vacation and therefore hope to find a company that we can depend on and use every year. Who better to ask then a group of people that can give you an honest OPINION good or bad. I really don’t like the idea of traveling 10 hours to find out the hard way that a particular company doesn’t make costumer service their #1 priority. Thanks again everyone for taking the time to share your opinions with us.

I never used them to rent a house on the OBX because I live here but I can tell you that used to manage a home I used to own in Hatteras and I found them to be very helpful. Nice folks, good customer service.

I own a house that is managed by Outerbeaches and has been since 1999. They expect us owner to keep the house in good order and if it isn't they will ask you to list your house with another compnay. I have had feedback from renter who have stayed at other realty companies house and all have remarked how clean Outerbeaches houses are compared to others. My family rented from Outer Beaches last year and had no problems with them or the property. We just rented another house from them for July of this year and expect the same service and standards.

We used Outer Beaches last year. I loved their low administrative fee to rent (compared to other realty companies), no security deposit or payment needed for accidental damage waiver and you can use your credit card to pay without a fee!

Haven't found another company who offers these great options for their customers!

We are thinking of trying another area in the Outer Beaches this year, but I am finding the fees charged by the other realty companies are outrageous!

Rented from Outer Beaches for years, then made the move to Avon full time from Jersey. I still use Outer Beaches to rent houses for my family when they come to visit, and have never had a bad experience. Any minor issues (i.e. hot tub problem one year) were resolved within hours. I would highly recommend Outer Beaches!!!

I have rented with Outer Beaches for years. Last summer their helpful reservationists helped me plan a family reunion with four houses. They were great! I wouldn't rent with any other company.

Try them now.
If you own a home with them they are terrible. They nickle and dime you for crazy repairs and over charge for simple stuff ( $50.00 for a propane tank refill) They cut the rate by 5% for booking a year in advance but that comes out of the owners end. They accept credit cards but that 3% comes off the owners end. The damage insurance is a hoax they really don't have a policy they just keep the money and pay out the minimum needed when a damage they can't explain away as "renters just do those things" Look at the paperwork it is no longer called insurance because it is not.
The mold insurance is a non-exestant policy too. They never check ont he house during rentals. Neighbors call and tell us how they have 4 or 5 dogs in the house with out telling us yet OBR doesnothing about it. Just take your cash and run
