There is a very nice Hampton Inn oceanfront in the south part of Corolla.
There is a new Hilton Garden Inn oceanfront on the north end of Kitty Hawk.

Best Western in Kill Devil Hills is a good choice. The only suite hotel in the area. We stayed there in Oct. and the view was wonderful.
