It really depends on what you are looking for in a meal but I have tried them all and the only place I wasn't impressed with was Capt. Bens , Its all fried food although good, I preferred grilled.

The most popular is Howard’s ,they have a diverse menu Jason’s for pizza , Atlantic café for up scale sea food, Back Porch another upscale , Jolly’s is good too.

Stop by the community store they have the menu’s of all the restaurants on their front porch.

Howard's Pub and Raw Bar is the only place to eat on Ocracoke!

Check out their web site.

Howard's is great for both the the food and casual atmosphere. You won't find fancy cuisine, but I had the grilled tuna sandwich there last week and it was outstanding. They also do a good job with shellfish--scallops, shrimp, oysters, etc.

Do you have to have helmets when you ride a bike on Orcacoke Island or in the Hattras area

The Pelican is the best place imo. You can find a place like Howards anywhere.

Cafe Atlantic! Great for seafood, salads, desserts, etc. The Pelican Restaurant mentioned above is gone and thank goodness it is.
