I enjoyed the shops in Manteo. Ocracoke had some interesting shops also. Manteo though, was easier to navigate in terms of everything being close in one spot. Ocracokes shops are kind of scattered about. I hear Nags head has a lot of shopping but we didn't go there. Maybe someone else can tell you about the shopping there.

Shopping in Duck can be fun.
Scarborough Faire has something for everyone.(some places are expensive). Spend the day in the village of Duck and you can walk from one area to the next. Nice places to stop for lunch and sit and watch the sound for a break.

Tim buck II in corolla has alot of Interesting shops alot like ducks shopping grouped together. OR if you like a road trip drive nags head kill devil alot of shoping there but you have to drive. But it is fun.

Also consider:
Christmas Mouse (if you're into Christmas!)
Shops in Manteo; if you like bookstores, try the Manteo bookstore.

Christmas Mouse is closed....

My wife is a HUGE fan of Manteo shopping.

Nags Head has many places as well.

There is also an outlet mall in Southern Nags Head on the by pass.

Don't miss Elizabeth Lord in Kitty Hawk;next to Capt'n Franks. She has some wonderful things; unusual. Also a place in Scarborough Faire in Duck called The Swan

If you are looking for local crafts, check out KDH Cooperative at MP 8.5 on the bypass. This place is filled with work created by local artists. They have all kinds of art. The jewelry was really fabulous! Check it out!
