Subject: 4 wheel driving
I have read the sites about four wheel driving south of Nags Head. However, I cant get a good idea of how long a distance is four wheel accessible traveling south. I am trying to decide whether or not to come in my four wheel drive truck or just come in the car when we visit OBX next month..

South of Oregon Inlet there is a section that goes for many miles, you can find lots of places and space.

There are miles of beach open all the way to Ocracoke. But there won't be long if the government has it's way.

It depends what you plan on doing, if you plan on doing any fishing a 4x4 is a must to get to the best ares to fish. If you are only doing some sightseeing it is optional but not necessary. I'd leave it at home unless you are a fisherman or really want to utilize some area that is only 4x4 :)
