Subject: October weather
Does anybody know what temperature it usually is mid-october. Being from Pittsburgh it can feel like winter by that date. Is it still hot and have warm ocean breezes or is long pants and sweaters??

It varies....I would suggest checking out the averages on the weather channel or someplace similar. Warmer days, cooler nights sort of thing, of course, with the variable chance of a hurricane.

Last year we stayed the last week of September. It was high 70's to low 80's. It only rained for a few hrs one day.

We swam in the ocean daily. Although it wasn't in the 80's it was definitely bearable.

We go every Thanksgiving and some years we're on the beach a couple days out of the week-- in bathing suits. Other years it's rainy. That's November, but it's an idea.

Nice and warm and uncrowded and lots of places are still open. A great time to come.

We come every year in the beginning of October (also from PA). It is very pleasant, and the best part is that it is pretty quiet.

Did you mean Carova or Corolla?
If you meant the latter and rent in the former you're in for a real shock!
Carova sits at the NC/VA border, 12 miles north of where the road ends in Corolla.
If you meant Carova, go for it. Lots of folks love it up there.
