Anything new in the rodanthe area as far as restaurants this year? Lisas Pizza & Board Wok are good but I am hoping for something new. I still miss the Boathouse rest. that closed a few years ago

Hi,
Just home from 2 weeks in Rodanthe...great little restaurant recently opened: Atlantic Coast Cafe in Waves ~ very good!(http://www.atlanticcoastcafe.com/)
Check out their menu online. Also, believe it or not, a new Dairy Queen is now open right next door.
Have you ever tried Top Dog? We really enjoy their food, though no AC can be rough!

Just an FYI...the Down Under is for sale. We never eat in the restaurant, only shrimp and Fosters at the bar, but we'll be sad to see it go.

Awww ~ that's sad about Down Under. Though I haven't been to OBX in almost 5 years we always had good service and good food ~ especially the jalapeno stuffed shrimp wrapped with bacon and grilled!

Dolphin Den is still open, still serving great food. Had their shrimp/mango salad last week, and it was delicious.

You've obviously never tried Top Dog Cafe in Waves. It's all great - burgers, wraps, salads, steamed shrimp, dinners, all kinds of seafood. Where have you been?

Try Uncle Paulie's. It looks like a dive from the outside, but the food is awesome!
