Subject: Sunday Arrival Traffic

Is the traffic lighter on Sunday arrivals? Any suggestions on route to take from Northern VA to Southern Shores. Thanks!

We think so! We now only get Sun to Sun rentals because the traffic on Sat was so unbearable. Last year, except for an accident, we hit no traffic...Of course once off the bridge and headed up to Corolla, there was traffic, but that was to be expected....
BTW, we are leaving in 17 days and I CAN"T WAIT!

Yes, Sunday is 10x better than Saturday, makes you wonder why so many choose a Sat-Sat rental. The only time you will have a problem getting to Kitty Hawk will be if there is a wreck somewhere or if you plan to arrive at 1-2pm. There can be a backup for a couple blocks at that time some Sundays in July.

How is the traffic in October? We are driving from Raleigh, NC. We plan on driving on either a Saturday or Sunday going to Hattras.

Here's a NEW Twist, We travel down on Friday morninig and stay in a cheap motel(The Oceanhouse Motel). This way we get more vacation time, little to no traffic and have a great time..(Our check in day in on Sunday).And the best part is that your already there come Sunday....ENJOY "THE BANKS"
