Subject: Bike riding in OBX
I am interested in bike riding through the town of Duck on Rt 12. Are there sidewalks that you can ride on if traffic is extremely heavy. Are drivers fairly courteous. Are there any bike paths that you can follow that you don't have to dodge traffic?

Yes, there is a bike path which is separate from but follows the main Highway 12 thru Duck. http://www.townofduck.com/ducktrail.htm

I rode from north of Corolla Light to Nags Head and back mainly on the roadway where there is a wide berm. When I got close to Duck, I began riding on the multi-purpose trail and was still able to maintain good speeds. It's a great ride and very flat!

not sure if this includes Duck, but I got a cool map from the Visitors Center that has bike friendly suggestions.
