Subject: Surf vs Sound Fishing?
Coming to Duck in Mid July...want to do some fishing from Pier and surf...what is the best kind of rod and reel combo and bait to use?

Might want to buy an outfit before I come...

my husband bought a really nice "bigger" rod and reel for "surf" fishing @ Walmart down there at a great price.

Yes definitly wait till you get there . In duck there is bobs bait and tackle right next to resort quest realitor he is very helpful. we used shrimp and squid, best time to fish is right before a storm and early in the morning. Have a great trip

I also agree that the rods and reels are cheaper there then to but one say in ohio!

comming to the outer banks the first week of sept. am going to rent a pontoon during the week and do some sound fishing have any suggestions on bait or what to fish for?
