Subject: Best Pizza?
Can anyone recommend a restaurant for great pizza? We are staying in Nags Head and would prefer delivery but if it's to die for, we will drive to pick it up. Thanks!

There are to die for pizza places here but there are good ones. Pizza is like BBQ, everybody likes something different and there is no "Best" pizza. I like Dominos, Pizza Hut, Cosmo's, Little Ceasar and Pappa Johns. I will eat Dardevils or Pizzaz, but I don't like Stone Oven. Don't look to hard for a special pizza place, there just isn't one here.

We had Stone Oven in April (they deliver and are located in the Outlet strip). While they messed up our order REALLY badly (brought 2 different pizzas and no salad as ordered), they did bring us our correct order after we called, along with 2 free lg pizza coupons and they didn't ask for the first 2 pizzas back (not that they'd really want them!). The pizza was OK...we ate it ALLLLL week! The service made everything worth it though:)

Went to the New York Pizza Pub (MP 10) a few nights ago. It is the best Pizza in OBX.

There is no good pizza on the Outer Banks. New York Pizza at MP10 is terrible. If you're are from the NE and expect something simiular you won't find it. When in Rome do as the Roman's do, eat the BBQ.

Eat BBQ on the beach? I think when near the sea you eat "sea food".

American Pie on MP 9.5 is AMAZING. It was new last year and our group was very impressed with the service and great food at an affordable price. They also have in-store made ice cream that is really good!

We tried American Pie last year also and thought the pizza was really good! The dough and sauce appeared to be freshly made - not from a can or a mix. The ice cream was good too as 5395 stated.

Recently visited OBX, and I don't recommend New York Pizza Pub. Our pizza was overcooked, overpriced, and we'd been better off just ordering from Papa John's or Domino's. Worst meal of our week.

I've had plenty of NY and New Haven pizza and I make pizza at home all of the time in my own wood fired brick oven.

If you think you know good pizza, my recommendation to you is stay away from all pizza in the OBX.

However, my friends from VA, NC, that I vacation with down at the OBX always want pizza the first night we get there. Some even talk like they enjoy it. But these people think Pizza Hut are great. They simply don't know what good pizza is.

Last year one of my kids gagged on it and then refused to eat anymore of it. This year before we went, they told me that they can't eat the pizza down there, so when we go this year, we're just going to let our friends have the pizza and we'll stick with just the wings.

When people say that the pizza is great, it would really be helpful for them to tell us where they are from and what they are comparing it too.
