Subject: Camping in OBX
I have a question...When I was a child my family camped at a campground that I thought was in Duck? I no longer see any campgrounds there? We are planning a July camping trip and I am unsure where to camp but was looking in the Cape Hatteras area. Any suggestions? Thank You

You're right, I don't think there are any campgrounds in Duck - in hatteras check out Frisco Woods Campground - it gets good reviews on this message board.

There is Camp Hatteras in Rodanther-concrete slab parking, 2 pools, oceanside plus the KOA. There ia also St.Clair Landing which is soundside between the 2 already mentioned...tent sites and a few full hookup sites. The Duck campground became condos back in the mid to late 80's.

The Duck campground became an upscale subdivision named SeaPines about 1990, not condos. There are several campgrounds on Hatteras Island from Rodanthe down to Buxton. July is very busy, so you will need to make your plans very soon.
