Looking for things to do with children under 10. We would like to go for a dolphin cruise. Any other suggestions would be appreciated, also maybe suggest a company for the dolphin cruise. Also some places to eat that are not overpriced. We are staying oceanfront in Kitty Hawk. Thank you!
Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated. This is our first time visiting the Outer Banks.

The ocean should provide some level of intertainment for a few hours per day, but then there is mini-golf, the aquarium is a must see, the lighthouses, seeing the boats at Pirates Cove or Oregon Inlet are but a few I can think of.

There is plenty to do with children in OBX. When you arrive, pick up copies of the booklets and catalogs that are given away free to tourists. There may even be copies in your rental unit but you can see them in racks in all the stores. The books will have ads for all the stuff and you will enjoy going thru them. Many have coupons for discounts on activities. Head to Kitty Hawk Kites on the main road - they have many activities. You'll have a great time!

That dolpin watch website is pretty out of date. I didn't see anything added since 2002 so I would check up on it pretty well before I got my heart set on that. I use to see dolphin watch boats, in the ocean, around the 5-6 mile post and I see dolphins out there quite often today, but I have not seen a dolphin watch boat in years. I see that in 2002 they were working only in the sounds.

my wife and I have done the dolphin cruises every year since 2000.....they are still running. we usually use www.outerbankscruises.com - but we have also used the nags head dolphin watch one year too, and it was nice.

Neptune's Grill & Arcade is a great CASUAL place; perfect for familes-Killer burgers and philly cheesesteaks! Parents can relax with a cold beer and steamed shrimp, while the kids play video games. Nice, friendly staff too. We always have a great time! Located on the Bypass in Nags Head-MP 11, Pirate's Quay Shopping Center. Hope this helps!

Stop by one of the the National Park Service Visitor's Center locations and pick up a schedule of activities. Many of the ranger-led programs are fun and informative for both children and adults. NPS gift shops also have books, coloring books, etc. that are great for quiet time activities.

Take them to the bead shops, the lighthouse, and the ferry.

So, we can't bring our boat? It's prohibited?
