way to ward off bugs in OBX.
Should we use a topical spray? The "bug-b-gone"
candles? A combination of both? Which sprays
work best? Which candles work best? Not
sure which bugs are in "full force"

Subject: Mosquitoes
My friends and I have been going to OBX
for the past few summers, and we found last
summer to be particularly brutal for mosquitos.
We heard that one every few years they are
pretty bad, but I also read on this board
that wind patterns play a factor. We will
be going the week of July 8th. It is probably
too early to tell but can anyone who has
been there yet this year comment on how

in summer
I am getting married on the beach in Frisco
July 2008. A few people have mentioned a
problem with biting bugs (mainly black flys).
Does anyone have first hand knowledge of
this. Our reception is outside as well.

in the "shoulder seasons"
We are considering a trip in mid September.
Assuming it is not an exceptionally wet
summer, what can we anticipate in the way
of mosquitoes at that time of the year?
I assume there will be less than June, but
would there still be a lot? Any help would
