Subject: Ocracoke Ghost Tour

Wanted to recommend the nighttime walking Ghost Tour of Ocracoke with Amy Howard (her dad does a tour as well.) They leave from the Village Craftsmen on Howard Street. Amy was our guide and she did a beautiful job telling us Ocracoke stories, history and some spooky stuff. Kids loved it too and it was very dark so it set the right mood.

I've also been on this tour twice a couple of years ago. At that time they offered 2 different tours for different parts of the island. It was a lot of fun! the only complaint was the bugs, take bug spray with you. Mr. Howard and his daughter do a great job!

Yes, there are two different tours. She explained in our tour, the lighthouse side, that the island prior to the Navy cominn gin the 1940's was divided by two "guts" that she explained as two streams that are were 12 runs now (think two steams coming onto 12 from Silver Lake). Very, very interesting. And yes, bug spray always!

We took the tour last year and Amy was our guide. She did a fantastic job. Next time on the island, I plan to do it again!

I have been going to Ocracoke for years. We spend out time fishing, camping, Howard Pub, Ponies, etc but never had taken one of the tours. Now you all have me ready to go and do so. I won't be able to get there until Thanksgiving this year, will the tours still be going on then? Love the Ocracoke Island and dream of moving there one day. Wonderful place and wonderful people. God placed Ocracoke on earth to prepare me for Heaven.
